Our Walls

I was so ignorant to automatically assume this movie (and music) was about the Berlin Wall and the Cold War. It's much closer to home, present-day, than 1980's Germany. The sad thing is, I guarantee you many people that may not be able to see the blatant symbolism will discard this film as being "about drugs and Neo-Nazism". Grow a brain where applicable.

Side note: Just how many guys named Roger from England that grew up without Dads and were the lead singers of HUGE rock bands decided to make rock musicals about the psychological damage a child sustains when he/she grows up in a broken home without a Father?

I dig The Who and all, but psychology aside if you are looking for a rock musical a little closer to being "about drugs", watch Tommy. Just keep in mind that Roger Daltry never really did drugs - he left that up to Pete Townshend. He was just a bit more vain than Roger Waters, however, and decided he needed to play the lead role in his own movie. Bad move in my opinion...the man can't act. Waters, on the other hand, chose a great actor to play 'Pink' and stuck to writing the jams. Solid.

Where I end up

I rarely end up where I was intending to go, but often I end up somewhere I needed to be.
Douglas Adams

I am...

Pearls and swine bereft of me
Long and weary my road has been
I was lost in the cities
Alone in the hills
No sorrow or pity for leaving I feel

I am not your rolling wheels
I am the highway
I am not your carpet ride
I am the sky

Friends and liars don't wait for me 'cause I'll get on all by myself
I put millions of miles under my heels and still too close to you I feel
Yeah

I am not your rolling wheels
I am the highway
I am not your carpet ride
I am the sky

I am not your blowing wind
I am the lightning
I am not your autumn moon
I am the night
The night

Yeah
I am not your rolling wheels
I am the highway
I am not your carpet ride
I am the sky

Well I am not your blowing wind
I am the lightning
I am not your autumn moon
I am the night
Night

One Day at a Time

The best thing about the future is that it only comes one day at a time.
